Nancy Drew Movie
The first movie adaptation of Nancy Drew series appeared in 1938 - it was a "Nancy Drew Detective" film. In the next 1939 Warner Bros. released three more movies about Nancy - "Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase", "Nancy Drew Trouble Shooter" and "Nancy Drew Reporter". All these titles has been compiled into a special DVD release.
In the late 1970s ABC ran a TV series "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries". There were 67 episodes splitted into three seasons. In 1977 "The Hardy Boys Mysteries" and "The Nancy Drew Mysteries" were two separated title, but later on the casts were combined and the series continued with one title.
The latest Nancy Drew movie is "Nancy Drew released on June 15, 2007 by Warner brothers with Emma Roberts as Nancy Drew. This movie was nominated at "Teen Choice Awards" in categories "comedy movie actress" and "breakout female". Another three nominations was at "Young Artist Awards" in categories "Best Family Feature Film", "Leading Young Actress" and "Young Ensemble Cast". Bruce Willis had a cameo in "Nancy Drew" movie (uncredited) - he played role of lead actor in more than fifty crime films.
Plot of movie is developing around the fact that Carson Drew (Nancy's father) wants Nancy to be an ordinary teenager not detective. But when Nancy is changing her school to Hollywood High her new house has a mystery hidden in it. And of course Nancy Drew will not miss a chance to solve one more case. There is also a murdered actress, her daughter, bomb, chloroform and other interesting things in the movie.
The original story was slightly modified for "Nancy Drew" movie. The action takes place in nowadays and there are many modern devices and technologies that Nancy uses in her investigation.
